John: Owner / Broker-in-charge

If you ask John what defines him, he is likely to say faith, family, community ... and golf. John worked at multiple golf courses and driving ranges in the Columbia area for more than 17 years before going into realty. With the majority of that time spent as a golf instructor, he can always give you a few pointers to improve your game.

But what John wants to do most for you is to help meet your real estate needs. In 2011, John left the golf industry and accepted a position working for an asset/property management company as a sales associate. It was there that John was able to help hundreds of people achieve their goal of owning their own home. In 2016, John took the next step and obtained his real estate license. He saw what a tremendous difference an experienced and personable real estate agent can make during the often stressful process of buying or selling a home. So he built on his knowledge, skill and experience, earned his South Carolina broker license in 2020, and formed Next Step Real Estate Group.

I’m Morgan Muir, a local real estate agent who believes deeply in building meaningful relationships and serving others well. My journey into real estate began in 2018, fueled by a love for people and a desire to walk with families through life’s biggest transitions—buying or selling a home.
In addition to my work in real estate, I serve as the Hope Ministry Director at Gateway Baptist Church in Irmo, South Carolina. There, I lead a ministry that supports families of children with disabilities, helping create an inclusive and caring environment for every member of the church. As a mom to an Autistic teenage son, I bring both personal experience and passion into everything I do—whether that’s coordinating a Respite Night for parents or guiding a client through the process of finding the right home.
My heart is for people. I believe that real estate is not just about properties—it’s about families, futures, and finding places where people can feel truly at home. My faith and my work in ministry continually shape how I serve clients: with care, understanding, and a commitment to putting others first.
I’m married to my husband Kris, and we have two incredible sons. Whether I’m helping a family find their next home or supporting a family through our Hope Ministry, my goal is always the same—to make people feel seen, supported, and cared for.
If you're ready to take your next step in real estate, I’d love to walk alongside you.
